Step1
Get right up off your chair, go through and take a long, hot shower if you have not done already. When you step out of that steaming cubicle, you'll feel thoroughly clean, and more energetic.
Step2
After showering, have a shave if you are male, unless of course you'd rather keep your beard, and splash your face three to four times with freezing cold water from the tap. The cold sensation will course through your body and alert your senses, and will make you feel more refreshed.
Step3
Throughout the day, drink planty of water (about 8 glasses a day). This cannot be taken for granted. Water is a great beverage for helping your brain to think far more clearly, and will eliminate that sluggish feeling if it hasn't already retreated.
Step4
Take a walk around your home, which could be either your flat or your house. Look out of the window, especially if it is a sunny day, and imagine yourself absorbing all the light, all the energy from the sun and the blue of the sky. Feel it begin to pulse through your body.
Step5
If it is in fact a sunny day, step outside, even just for a second if you dont much feel like it, and take in a great, deep breath of air, and feel how fresh it is, and feel it cleanse your lungs and body. An especially great tip I once heard was to imagine that when you breathe in, you are inhaling bright blue air, and when you are exhaling, imagine you are releasing black air, which means essentially you are breathing in positive, and releasing negative.
Step6
One of the most important, if not the most important, step in this article to smile and laugh. While you may cringe at such a comment, this has found to work wonders for energy. If ever I feel tired, lazy, or worthless, I select a comedy DVD from my collection. Any of the great comedies, such as: The Simpsons, Friends, Only Fools And Horses, Frasier, Cheers, The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air should lift your spirits and put your mind at much ease.
