  • 1/4 cup dark rum
  • Additional powdered sugar

This recipe, from Audrey Bledsoe in Smyrna, GA appeared in the 1988 Southern Living Annual Recipes book. I used it years ago with FANTASTIC results! Combine first 5 ingredients in large bowl; stir well.

Shape into 1-inch balls, and let stand 10 minutes.

  3. Step 3

Sprinkle additional powdered sugar over balls. Yield: 4 dozen

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to let the balls stand for a full 10 minutes.
  • You will only yield the 4 dozen if you are sure to keep the balls to the recommended 1-inch.

on 6/3/2008 When I grew up in Vienna, Austria, we always used to make Chocolate-Rum-Balls at Christmas. Although they were slightly different, it reminds me of this time. We called them "Rumkugeln". Mmmh! - Will try this soon!
