If you are looking to eat somewhat healthily, then why not make a grilled chicken and cheese sandwich in your toaster oven? If you do not have a toaster oven, they are sold at almost every department store and any big chain retailer. The toaster oven I have has five settings in which I can heat up my food: broil, bake, toast, grill and warm. It is pretty neat being able to grill a meal in a toaster oven. Sometimes, being able to make a good sandwich at home with ingredients you can see and put together yourself is the way to go. Read on to learn how you can do it yourself.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Toaster oven (with a grilling setting)
  • Bread (of your choice)
  • Canned chicken or chicken you baked
  • Mayonnaise
  • Mustard
  • Jalapeños
  • Knife
  • Spoon
  • Can Opener
  • Container for your dressed up chicken

Grilled Chicken and Cheese Sandwich

Step1
Take out the canned chicken from your pantry or wherever you put non-perishable items in your home. With a can opener, cut into the can and begin opening the top of the canned chicken.
Step2
Teaspoon of Mayonaaise Mixed into Chicken Now, with a fork or spoon, put the chicken pieces in a container and add one to two teaspoons of mayonnaise and a teaspoon of mustard. With spoon, mix these ingredients together.
Step3
Minces Jalapeno Slices If you want to add a little bit of spice to your chicken sandwich, add jalapeño slices to the chicken mix. Jalapeño slices can be found in a can at your local grocery store. When I add jalapeño slices to my chicken, I mince from 6 to 10.
Step4
Once the jalapeño slices are minced, mix the pieces into the chicken. Your sandwich is almost ready to be grilled.
Step5
Cheese Slice On Top of Chicken Spread Now, take two slices of bread of your choice. Spread the amount of chicken you want onto one slice of bread. Then, add a slice of cheese on top of the chicken spread.
Step6
Grilled Cheese Chicken Sandwich in Toaster Oven Finally, close the chicken and cheese sandwich and place it in your toaster oven. Set the toaster oven between 100 and 200 degrees F. Grill for 2 to 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
Step7
This sandwich takes 2 to 8 minutes to make. Once grilled, it tastes so good with some chips, if you like, and with whatever your choice of beverage would be. Enjoy!

Tips & Warnings

  • You can add to or take away whatever you want from this recipe.
  • Make it the way you want it. This is my personal recipe.
  • Enjoy it with family, friends or by yourself.
  • Remember that jalapeños are in the recipe. They might be a surprise to your family and friends, if you do not tell them ahead of time.
