Step 1
Remember that the right foundation for your skin should be invisible on you. It should blend into your skin tone and not look like you're wearing a mask.
-
Step 2
When choosing foundations, try three together that most resemble your skin color on your face and then apply a thin stripe of each along your jawline.
-
Step 3
The one that you can't see is probably the one for you.
-
Step 4
Know that color is one thing. Formulation is another. Is your skin oily, dry, prone to breakouts? Are you in the sun a lot? Are you showing signs of aging? All these factors need to be taken into account as well when deciding on a foundation. If you can't find one that suits all of your criteria just right, don't be shy about asking a makeup salesperson for help.

Step 5
Keep in mind that most makeup, once opened, cannot be returned, so make sure to buy one that you are able to test out before you plunk down any cash.
