Finding the perfect roommate can be difficult. That said, keeping peace with even the most perfect roommate requires work. The following are a few tips that will help keep the peace.

    The first thing to do when entering a new relationship with a roommate is set ground rules. Keeping the communication open will aid during rocky times. Talk with your roommates to establish a time where all of you can discuss these ground rules.

  2. Step 2

    At the time of the meeting, discuss what each person expects from the living situation. Have one individual keep notes.

  3. Step 3

    Discuss and agree on ground rules. Also, when you live with other people, personal space can be an issue. Discuss personal space issues, such as assigning cabinet shelf space to each roommate.

  4. Step 4

    Use the poster board to display the ground rules. Also make a space to leave messages and communicate between each other.
