Step 1
Before the actual meeting, be sure to give both your best friend and your fiancée plenty of information about the other person. You don’t want your best friend’s personality to be a surprise to your fiancée or vice versa.
-
Step 2
Pick a place for the meeting that you know both will enjoy. For example, if both your fiancée and your best friend enjoy Mexican food, have the introduction take place at a Mexican-style restaurant.
-
Step 3
When the three of you do meet up, be sure to actually introduce your fiancée to your best friend. Chances are this meeting will be slightly more awkward for your fiancée than your best friend so you’ll want to be the first person to talk.
-
Step 4
Come up with a topic of discussion that will interest both your best friend and your fiancée. Once they begin talking to one another, remain quiet during the conversation so that the two can get better acquainted.
-
Step 5
Until the two have gotten to know one another a little better, don’t leave. If you’re there, both your fiancée and your best friend have a safety net. Otherwise, there could be plenty of awkward silences.
