I've always thought that cards are best homemade. I seldom ever buy a card for anybody for any occasion, it just isn't as sincere. My cards usually consist of humorous pictures I take from magazines or draw.

Step1
Think of your recipient's humor. For example, I have a friend that has a huge crush on Harrison Ford. Whenever I make a card for her I usually have a picture of Harrison Ford with a woman's body or something of that nature.
Step2
Once you have some ideas go through your magazines and start cutting. Usually something will jump off the page at you, you'll see a funny face that you can't resist to put on the card. You can use the internet too for this process, but magazines are the most fun.
Step3
Once you have all of your images start putting the card together. You usually want to have one picture on the cover, two to three pictures inside, and one on the back.
Step4
Once the pictures are finished start adding your words. Use comic bubbles that make the humorous faces talk. Make it funny!
Step5
Draw random pictures if you have any blank space. I have horrible drawing skills. My method of drawing a Ninja Turtle is absolutely hilarious. Ninja Turtles have been a staple of mine for years.

Tips & Warnings

  • Have fun! This is a great gift to give someone and a great way for people to remember you! At the conclusion of an internship I had once I made cards for everyone in the office. They were all cracking up!
