The Adobe Premiere Pro Timeline panel is where you assemble and rearrange sequences of clips. Once you have many clips in place, it is important to be able to navigate within the Timeline panel. There are different ways to do that using the Time Indicator.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find the Time Indicator. Look for a red line with a blue triangle on top that runs vertically across all the video and audio tracks in your Timeline. Click on the blue triangle and drag the current-time indicator or click where you want to position the current-time indicator.

  2. Step 2

You also can click in the current time display, located in the upper left-hand corner of the Timeline panel and type a valid time. Press "Enter."

  3. Step 3

Another way to move the Time Indicator is with the Left or Right Arrow key. This will move the current-time indicator accordingly. Pressing the Shift key while pressing the arrow keys will move the Indicator in increments of five frames.

  4. Step 4

The Timeline panel also has a keyframe navigator, which has left and right arrows to move the current-time indicator from one keyframe to the next. In the Timeline panel, the keyframe navigator is enabled after you activate keyframes for a certain effect.

  5. Step 5

To use the keyframe navigator, you can go to the Timeline pane and click on a keyframe navigator arrow. The arrow pointing to the left moves the current-time indicator to the previous keyframe. The arrow pointing to the right moves the current-time indicator to the next keyframe.
