When you are working with many clips in an Adobe Premiere Pro project, you must stay organized. If you have imported clips or other assets that you no longer need, remove them from your Project Panel to eliminate clutter. Here’s how.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
To remove an item from the Project panel, select the clip by clicking on it, and press the Delete key. This does not delete the file from the hard disk.
Step2
You may also go to "Project," and then "Make Offline." You can delete the source file and its reference in the project.
Step3
You may have other assets beside video footage in your project, such as audio files or still photographs. To remove them individually, sort the project pane list. View by “Video Usage” or “Audio Usage.” Select the clip by left clicking on it and then going to "Cut."
Step4
Remember that if you have used the assets in any part of the Timeline, you will have to delete those files from their location within the Timeline, or import them again if you do need them later.
Step5
You can remove all unused assets at once, by going to "Project" and then "Remove Unused."
