Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Take it slow. It is a common mistake to gun it before going up a steep hill. The last thing you want to do is to lose control. When going downhill, stay at a moderate speed.
Step2
Don't spin your tires. If you do, you may turn sideways, tip over and roll down the hill.
Step3
Use a low gear. While going uphill it will give you power without your tires spinning. When going downhill a low gear will save your breaks by using the engine to slow you down.
Step4
If you use your breaks on the way down the hill, do not ride them. Just pulse them when you need to slow down. While going uphill, keep light, steady pressure on the gas pedal.
