Pick The Best Shoe For an Occasion

People look at your shoes. In fact, sometimes a shoe says a lot about somebody. It's a chance to be original no matter what the rest of your attire might say. It's difficult to decide what shoe to wear sometimes, here's a few tips.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Consider the occasion. The key is to think in depth about what the upcoming occasion is going to be about. Think beyond dressy and casual. Think about what the occasion is for, why is it happening, who's going to be there, and what kind of things you'll be doing.

  2. Step 2

Think about the rules, if there are any. Are there rules or suggestions for the dress of the occasion? Are there standards? Do you want to be standard or do you want to go against the grain. Do you want to break the rules? There's something to be said about both being traditional and breaking the rules.

  3. Step 3

Think of what kind presence you want to have at this event. Is that presence counter to the theme of the occasion? Are you trying to make a statement? Are you trying to blend in? Do you want to dance, do you want to be sexy?

  4. Step 4

Once you have thought about these things, you must consider what you are wearing. Usually people choose what to wear, then choose a pair of shoes. However, it doesn't always have to go that way. If you want to wear a certain pair, then dress around that pair. There are no rules when you're in your own closet.

  5. Step 5

I don't need to tell you what colors go with what. If you see the colors together and you like them, then go with it. Try on different things, because something might really strike you.

  6. Step 6

Once you've made your decision, wear the shoes with confidence. If you're not confident in your shoes, consider why. Is it the shoes? There's nothing like a new pair of shoes. Or does it go beyond the shoes?

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't be afraid to feel materialistic if a new pair of shoes will cheer you up. Sometimes it's hard to find ways to cheer us up.
  • Do not wear crazy shoes just to be crazy.
