Paper bags or lunch bags come in a variety of colors and you can use these sacks for various crafts. For example, you can create a cute greeting card with paper bags.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You'll Need:

  • Paper bags (
  • Scrapbook paper
  • Scrapbook embellishments, including stamps, stickers, ribbon or metal accessories.)
  • Hole punch
  • Adhesive
  • Paper trimmer
  • Scissors
  1. Step 1

Fold the paper bag in half evenly end to end. Cut it down the center so you have two pieces. The top piece where it opens on both sides will be the body of the card and the bottom piece with the flap is going to be the envelope.

  2. Step 2

Turn the top piece of the paper bag so that there is opening on both sides. Now punch holes down the right side of the card and tie ribbons in the holes so that it closes that side of the paper.

  3. Step 3

Cut pieces of scrapbook paper to cover the front and back of the card and the envelope. You will have four paper squares. You can to cut so that you leave a paper bag border around the scrapbook paper.

  4. Step 4

Embellish the card. Stamping a greeting or saying on a separate piece of paper and glue it to the front of the card.

  5. Step 5

Cut a separate piece of cardstock that is slightly smaller than the card so that you can slide it inside the greeting card. This cardstock can be decorated with scrapbooking supplies. You will write the message to your card recipient on this piece.

  6. Step 6

Cut a triangle to place on the front of your envelope, and act as a label on which you can write the name of the card recipient.

  7. Step 7

Put the card together by inserting the cardstock square with your message into the card portion of the paper bag. Slide the card into the envelope with the ribbon sticking out of the side to give the card some flair.

Tips & Warnings
  • Put a spiral clip from a piece of ribbon on the card insert, so that you can pull it out for the greeting message.
  • Cover the front and back sides of the card and envelope with your scrapbook paper so that your card is completely decorated.
  • Use brads or other metal embellishments in the corners of the paper to give the card some dimension and depth.

I am going to try to fix it and get the rest of the article published with my pictures. For some reason I keep getting errors.
