How to stop cabinet drawers from screeching

Make your older kitchen or bathroom cabinets drawers open smoother by getting rid of that annoying squeaky screech sound.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • an can of non- stick cooking spray.
  • clean dry rag.
  1. Step 1

    Step 1.
    Slide out the cabinet drawer to expose its wheels, slides and track.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2.
    With a clean dry rag, wipe out any dirt or dust from the cabinets track. Also if the cabinets have wheels or glides, go ahead and wipe them clean. If they are older or seriously dirty, may need to get the hose option from a vacuum out to clean out the debris.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3.
    Hold a can of non- stick cooking spray about 4-5 inches away from the track. Spray the tracking lightly from one end to the other. Also, Spray the slides and wheels lightly which are on the drawer.
    Spin the wheels around to make sure that they get the spray over them.

  4. Step 4

    * Reinsert the drawer back into the cabinet.

  5. Step 5

    * Slide the drawer back and forth to work in the spray. The drawer should glide now much smoother and quieter.

Tips & Warnings
  • When spraying, Please be careful to not get the spray onto anything else, too much and it will drip, leaving a yellow stain.
