Do you love the taste and texture of crispy homemade french fries, but every recipe you use turns out soggy? Follow these simple directions to perfect crispy french fries!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • potatoes
  • water
  • oil
  • salt
  • flour
  1. Step 1

Cut the potatoes down to french fry size. I suggest slicing each to about a 1/2 inch wide and two to three inches long.

  2. Step 2

Fill a large bowl with water and about 2 tablespoons of salt. Place the french fries in the water and allow them to soak for at least 15 minutes.

  3. Step 3

While the fries are soaking, begin heating oil in deep fryer or large skillet. Remove french fries from water and dry with a paper towel.

  4. Step 4

Pour 1 cup of flour and 2 teaspoons of flour into a ziploc bag, then add potatoes by the handful and shake until french fries are completly covered.

  5. Step 5

Add french fries to hot oil and cook for approximately 4-6 minutes. Allow to cool slightly and serve warm.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add extra spices to the flour to make spicy fries.
  • Hot Oil is extremely dangerous, do not allow children nearby while you are frying.
