How to Allow Popup Windows in Firefox

Firefox is a popular, free alternative Web browser to Microsoft Internet Explorer. If you have opted to use Firefox and are having trouble using specific Web sites that rely on popup windows, follow these steps to allow popups for these sites.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Firefox and Web access
  1. Step 1

Select the tools menu near the top of the Firefox window and click the Options tab.

  2. Step 2

Select the Content icon at the top of the Options window. Find the line that reads "Block pop-up windows" and click the "Exceptions" button next to it.

  3. Step 3

In the field under the text that reads "Address of web site," enter the full URL of the site for which you wish to allow popup windows. Click the "Allow" button to add it to your exception list.

  4. Step 4

Continue adding URLs as necessary until all of your exceptions have been added, then close the Allowed Sites window and the Options window.

Check

http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Options+window

It is under the Firefox menu, not Tools, and under Preferences, not Options. Furthermore, you must select the Content tab.

In other words this advice was totally wrong or addressed to an inoperative version of Firefox.
