I AM A SENIOR CITIZEN
I AM A SENIOR CITIZEN

I still remember the time that I got my first senior citizen discount. I was only about 55 years old. ( Just getting over the shock of turning 50.) Talk about mixed emotions. I appreciated the fact that I got a four dollar discount off of my meal, but didn't like the fact that they thought I was a senior. ( They didn't even ask me.) However, I accepted the four dollar discount and went and looked in the first mirror that I could find. This article is about the fact that we are getting older, and that we must accept this fact. We are going to become seniors. I hope that this article helps you accept it gracefully.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A sence of humor
  • A decision ( not to let yourself go.)
  1. Step 1
    Were getting older.
    Were getting older.

PREPARE YOUR MIND FOR IT. Realise that it is going to happen, weather you like it or not. Prepare your mind to accept it.

  2. Step 2
Can't look in the mirror today.
Can't look in the mirror today.

KEEP YOURSELF LOOKING AS GOOD AS YOU CAN. I have seen quite a number of older people that look great. Sadly, I've seen older people that have let themselves go.

  3. Step 3
    Looking better eh?
    Looking better eh?

EXERCISE SOME. This will help keep your system going and help you to look better. SEE HOW MUCH BETTER I LOOK AFTER A BIT OF EXERCISE? ( I'm the big guy.)

  4. Step 4

KEEP YOUR SENSE OF HUMOR. You might as well laugh as cry. I have an Aunt that I love. Anytime that I visit her I know that I'm going to be laughing. There is nothing like an older person with a good sense of humor.

Tips & Warnings
  • PREPARE YOUR MIND FOR IT
  • KEEP YOURSELF LOOKING AS GOOD AS YOU CAN
  • EXERCISE SOME
  • KEEP YOUR SENSE OF HUMOR
  • DON'T BE MISERABLE, IT WON'T HELP YOUR LOOKS

on 1/31/2009 I just turned 50 last November and it's very strange to me. I've always loved turning older, but somehow, well, it's bittersweet to me now and rather weird. I kept up my humor by saying over and over, "I'M 50, 50 YEARS OLD!" like Molly Shannon on SNL?! The only thing was, I couldn't put my leg up like she did, damn it!!! Tee hees! :D XOXOX
