How to Prepare for Boy/Girl Twins

Having a baby is a wonderful miracle. Having two is even more reason to celebrate! Along with that joy comes some hard work. Hopefully in this article I can give you some tips on how I prepared for my beautiful boy and girl twins.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Clothes
  • 2 Cribs
  • 2 Matresses
  • Pump (if you plan on breast feeding)
  • Formula (of you plan on using)
  • Gender Neutral nursey design.
  • Books
  • Double Stroller
  • Car Seats
  1. Step 1
    Crib
     
    Crib

    Buying a crib is a matter that should be researched thoroughly. After all this will be the place your babies will spend time sleeping in. You want the crib to be safe and comfortable. Read all directions on how to assemble the crib and what size mattress to use.

  2. Step 2
    Diapers
     
    Diapers

    Stock up on wipes and diapers. You will need a lot of them.

  3. Step 3
     Stoller
     
    Stoller

    Do your research on which stroller would best fit your needs. Also don't forget you will need to buy two car seats that are compatible with your stroller. Normally you will find the same color and brand to match.

  4. Step 4
    Bottles
     
    Bottles

    Buy a few baby bottles. That way if you cannot feed both babies at once you can have someone else help you. Also if you are breast feeding select bottles that will mimic breast feeding.

    Manual Pump
     
    Manual Pump

    Choose a double pump that way you can get the pumping done in a small amount of time. You can use an electric one or manual it is your choice.

    If you choose to use formula make sure you stock up! You may even need to supplement breast feeding with formula.

    Pick a gender neutral nursery theme. Such as froggy tales or classic Winne the pooh. Or make up your own theme.

    Buy nice comfortable blankets to keep them cozy and warm.

    Buy a lot of onesies and t-shirts.

    No-one can tell you exactly how to prepare. But you can read books to help you on your journey. Twins are a wonderful gift. Enjoy them and have fun preparing to bring them into the world!

Tips & Warnings
  • These are some of the basic items you will need.
  • Pick items that best suit your lifestyle.
  • Make a schedule for the babies!!!! This cannot be stressed enough and stick to it!!!!!
  • Work together and allow friends and family to help/
  • Try not to be anxious or nervous. It is challenging but very rewarding.
  • Try not to argue or get upset with your spouse over the stresses you may encounter.
  • Be careful not to stock up on one size of diapers. Your babies will grow very fast.

on 7/11/2009 Congratulations on your double blessing! My daughter had twins three years ago & was HUGE. She was on bed rest most of her pregnancy, but that just made the blessed event more blessed.
