How to Make Personalized Gift Wrap

Sometimes you don't have gift paper on hand when it's time to give a present. Maybe you're at the office and can't run out to the store. Here's how to create wrapping paper that's personal and unique. This works best on smaller gifts.

Things You’ll Need:

• computer and printer
• computer paper (white or colored)
• scissors and tape
• gift

1. Open a word processing file on the computer. Choose a font and size from the Format menu. A script like monotype corsiva looks good. Size 24 or larger works well, up to size 48. It can be all the same size or vary the sizes and fonts for an eclectic look.
2. Type the person's name or the occasion into the word file using the chosen font. Repeat it several times, separating it with dashes or stars. Example: Happy Birthday, Mary Jones! * Happy Birthday, Mary Jones!
3. Printing the gift wrap. Copy what you have typed and paste it repeatedly until the page is full. Print out enough pages to cover the gift plus one extra to make the bow.
4. For larger gifts, piece several pieces together with tape Wrap the gift in your specialty paper, just like you would with regular gift wrapping paper.
5. Cutting the strips for the bow. To make a matching bow, take one sheet of your printed paper. Cut it into strips with the name or occasion on each strip. Using a pair of scissors, pull the blade along the strip to curl it. Gather the curls into a bunch and tape onto the wrapped gift.
