When you burn a CD on your computer, you probably noticed that when it is finished writing to the CD it is automatically ejected. You might think this is a pretty handy trick. Or maybe you find it annoying and wish it would stop. If you subscribe to the latter theory, then follow these steps to stop the CD recorder from automatically ejecting the CD.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer using Microsoft Windows, with CD writing capabilities
  1. Step 1

    Click “Start” and then click “My Computer.” Alternatively, double click “My Computer” from your desktop.

  2. Step 2

    Right click your CD recording drive.

  3. Step 3

    Click “Properties.” The CD drive’s “Properties” dialog box will appear.

  4. Step 4

    Click on the “Recording” tab.

  5. Step 5

    Uncheck the box next to “Automatically Eject the CD After Writing.”

  6. Step 6

    Click “Apply” and “OK.”
