Have you ever needed to change the language used for menus and dialog boxes on your computer? These steps will show you how to change the language used for your computer’s menus and dialog boxes.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer using Microsoft Windows

Step1
Click “Start” and then click on “Control Panel.” If you are using an older version of Windows you will click “Start,” point to “Settings” and then click on “Control Panel.”
Step2
Click the option in the task pane that says “Switch to Classic View" if your “Control Panel” is in “Category View.”
Step3
Double click “Regional and Language Options.” The “Regional and Language Options” dialog box will appear.
Step4
Click on the “Languages” tab.
Step5
Under “Language Used in Menus and Dialogs”, select the language you want.
Step6
Click “Apply” and “OK.”

  • You need to have the “Windows Multilingual User Interface Pack” in order to make these changes. Contact Microsoft for more information.
