Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
The downside to the bagless vacuums is that you have to clean the filters every so often to make sure that it does not get clogged and it can be a messy job. The good side is that you no longer have to buy and replace the bags which will save you money in the long run. It also tends to be less bulky then the bagged vacuums.
It is also a bit fun in the beginning to watch all the dirt that you are sucking up spinning around in the bagless vacuum. It gives you a clear view of just what you are picking up. But when it is time to dump the canister the dust flies all up in your face.
Step2
The downside of the bagged vacuums is always having to replace the bags, and with so many different replacement bags these days it can be a bit confusing and pricey. With so many different companies offering different bags like filtered which are better for allergy suffers and some even contain a dust flap which close the bag automatically upon removal to ensure no dust flies around. The bagged vacuums are also more expensive then the bagless versions.
Step3
In the end it all depends on what you want. If you suffer from allergies then I do recommend the bagged vacuum! The suction of both are good and stay good with maintenance that you should do to maintain your vacuum. With so many different vacuum choices on the market it can be confusing, but keep the simple things in mind like..
Step4
1. Look at the style and feel the weight of the vacuum, is it easy to carry around? Is the style able to get where I need to go?
2.The quality for what you are paying. Does it have the features that appeal to you and will help you clean the best. Does it have the tools that can connect to it that will be helpful to you?
Step5
3. Size matters. There are so many different options ranging from small handheld vacuums to 30 gallon shop vacuums. Most choose something in between, make sure it is easy for you to maneuver around.
4.Take it for a test vacuum. Most stores will allow you to do so, some may think your a bit crazy, but pay no attention to them. After all it is your money you will be spending!
Step6
5. Do your research on vacuums before hand. Compare the vacuums online and choose a few that interest you the most and go to the stores with those few in mind.
Take your time and choose the best vacuum for you. Treat it just as you would buying a car since it is to clean your home and that benefits your whole family. You want the vacuum that you are choosing to last and the best way to ensure that is choosing the best one you can find!
