How to Create Your Own Bat Signal

The Bat Signal shows the Batman logo seen here.

Whenever Gotham City is under seige, Commissioner Gordon shines the bat signal into a cloudy sky to summon Batman's help. There is no way to duplicate Gordon's massive bat signal, but the Bat fan can make a small version with a simple flashlight.

Things You'll Need

• Paper
• Cardboard
• Bat symbol
• Flashlight
• Tape

Instructions

1. Measure the diameter of the lens on the flashlight.

2. Find an image of the bat symbol online and save it to a graphics program.

3. Size the bat symbol image so that it will fit across the lense of the flashlight.

4. Print out the bat symbol and use it as a stencil to trace the image onto cardboard. Cut out the stencil.

5. Tape the bat symbol across the lense of the flashlight. Turn off the lights and then shine the flashlight with the signal.

Tips & Warnings

• To save time, you can cut out any sized bat symbol, prop it up with a picture clip and shine the flashlight against it.
