Whenever Gotham City is under seige, Commissioner Gordon shines the bat signal up into the sky to summon Batman's help. Now you can create your own at home as a fun arts and crafts project for the kids.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Paper
  • Cardboard
  • Bat symbol
  • Flashlight
  • Tape
  • Computer and printer
Step1
Measure the diameter of the lens on your flashlight.
Step2
Find an image of the bat symbol online and save it.
Step3
Size the bat symbol image so that it will fit across the lense of the flashlight.
Step4
Print out the bat symbol and use it as a stencil to trace the image onto cardboard. Cut out the stencil.
Step5
Tape the bat symbol across the lense of the flashlight. Turn off the lights and then shine the flashlight against the ceiling or wall to reveal your own bat signal.

Tips & Warnings

  • To save time, you can cut out any sized bat symbol, prop it up with a picture clip and shine the flashlight against it.
