You are about to be a half-century old. That's 50 years old. It's a milestone-one of the big ones. How will you react to this one day in your life? Read below for suggestions on how you can start your second half-century gracefully.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Good attitude
  • Smile
Step1
Go to bed the night before your 50th birthday telling yourself that tomorrow is just another day. Prepare yourself to wake up with a positive attitude.
Step2
Plaster your biggest and most confident smile that you can on your face. Be prepared to keep it there all day.
Step3
Know the getting old birthday cards, "Over the Hill" signs, and black balloons are bound to be part of your "special day." Accept them. Laugh politely. Keep that smile on your face.
Step4
If there's a cake involved in your celebration. Take a deep breath; blow out all those candles. Smile. Enjoy the cake.
Step5
In a private quiet moment, reflect on how far you've come in the last 50 years. Focus on the positive things. Smile.
Step6
Congratulate yourself on all of your accomplishments. If you must, totally optional, set a new goal for yourself.
Step7
Go to bed knowing that you survived your 50th birthday gracefully. You will never have to have another 50th birthday. Tomorrow will start the rest of your life!
