Creating an egg shaped card is a fun way to put a new twist on giving a homemade card for Easter. It only takes a few extra steps and you will have a distinctive card to give for Easter.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cardstock in pink, yellow, green or blue
  • White cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Egg template, stencil, or shape printed from the computer
  • Creasing tool
  • Straight guide for creasing
  • Embellishments, such as ribbons or stamps
  1. Step 1

Cut the egg shaped front out of the Easter colored cardstock, according to the template, stencil or computer printed shape.

  2. Step 2

Cut the egg out of the white cardstock about half an inch from the right edge of the paper. Cut all but a 2- to 3-inch section on the right side of the egg. This uncut section will create the center fold of the card. Cut straight in towards the egg from the right side so that the egg comes out of the paper with the flat on the right side.

  3. Step 3

Flip the white egg over so the fold section is on the left side. With the creasing tool and straight guide, crease the section 1/2 inch from the edge to create a rectangular shape out of the section. Fold the section in and crease.

  4. Step 4

Apply a piece of tape along the entire length on top of the rectangular section. Line up the white and colored cardstock piece. Keep the tape from sticking to the front until the two pieces are lined up. Press the left side of the egg down onto the taped section.

  5. Step 5

Add your ribbons or stamps as final embellishments.
