Survive on Very Little Sleep
Survive on Very Little Sleep

The average American sleeps about seven hours per night. However, in this hectic modern society, it has become almost a badge of honor if you can survive on almost no sleep and spend those precious hours catching up on work, school or some more productive activity.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Try taking a cat nap during the day. Even if you have to snooze during lunchtime, taking a 30 minute nap is guaranteed to make you feel more refreshed and able to function throughout the rest of your day.

  2. Step 2

Try using caffeine for a little energy boost. Drink some coffee or try some caffeinated drink, such as soda. These will work for the short term and help you through your day.

  3. Step 3

Try crashing early one night a week or sleeping in on the weekends to catch up on sleep you missed throughout the week. However, you have to use this technique with caution as it can cause you to be too well rested to sleep well come Sunday night. This can thrown off your whole sleep pattern for the following work week.

  4. Step 4

Get outside and try exercising or some other activity to get you moving. You will feel less tired and energize your body.

  5. Step 5

Try a high protein snack and stay away from carbs. This will help to boost the amino acids in your brain.

  6. Step 6

Keep yourself occupied. If you're busy, you have less time to focus on the fact that you're tired.
