How to Combine Videos From Multiple DVDs to One DVD

There are times when your favorite videos are small enough to fit on one disc but they're scattered across several discs. Nero has a solution. Today we're going to see how Nero 8 can pluck 3 favorite videos from 3 different DVD+R discs and combine them on one new playable DVD+R. Lets begin…

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

• NERO Recode

1. Insert one of several discs into your drive.
   Open Nero’s Recode3.
   Click “Recode Entire DVD to DVD”
   
   TIP: If you have multiple optical drives you can skip this process and jump down to step 4, but be warned, you would need as many drives as you have discs to combine.
2. Click Import DVD
   Select your DVD drive
   Click OK
   (The disc loads into Recode)
   Click Next
3. Set your destination (type) as HARD DISK FOLDER
   Set your Target Folder by clicking Browse and setting up a unique folder name.
   Click BURN at the bottom Right.
   Repeat this process with a new folder name for every disc you wish to use in this project.
4. I have already recoded several discs to my hard drive.
   Or I have access to multiple optical drives at once.
   
   Open a fresh session of Nero Recode3
   Click “Compile DVD”
5. Click Import Titles
6. Browse to the first disc and double click the folder containing the video_ts.
7. You will now see all titles available.
   Select a title by single clicking it.
   Click Add Title.
   
   TIP: You may select more than one title from the disc by holding down the Ctrl key as you select or click titles. Do not worry if the amount of space exceeds a single disc. You will have the chance to TRIM later. Also remember Recode can compress the videos to offer that extra bit of room you might need.
8. Browse and select another folder that represents a 2nd disc.
   Again the disc-info loads and I can pick another title.
   This time, I’ll pick title 7 from disc 4
9. Notice on the far right the quality is still 100% or no compression.
   If my videos were longer I might see 95%. You can easily permit the quality to drop down to 80% with no noticeable loss of quality. In this case, I wish to make my video shorter. I just want to remove the credits for easier viewing. To do this…
   Click a title below “My Disc”.
   Click Trim Movie.
10. The Trim movie window pops open. I can now use the navigation buttons to display the last frame and/or first frame so as to trim off the front and back of the video. In my case I will cut the credits off of the 1st episode. Click OK and NEXT.
    
    TIP: We’ve all seen TV episodes that end “to be continued”
    Well, by using this process, I could easily combine the 2 episodes into a single flowing episode by removing the credits from the 1st episode and removing the "reminder scenes" and opening credits of the 2nd episode.
11. Set the Destination as HARD DISC FOLDER.
    Set your TARGET as a new folder.
    Click Browse.
    Click “Make New Folder”.
    Type a folder name.
    Click OK.
    
    TIP:
    I suggest completing the project on the hard drive and then burning that to a disc later. This speeds up the process and keeps your project fluid until you're ready to burn it to a DVD+R.
12. The controls in the upper left area are ready.
    Now lets click "MORE" at the bottom left.
    This reveals some hidden options.
    Lets set our Priority to “Above Normal”.
    Doing this is not required but can speed up the process.
    Click BURN.
    Recode starts the burn process.
    
    We have just combined 3 videos from 3 different discs on to a single final DVD.
