How to Hold a Karaoke Fundraiser

A karaoke fundraiser can be a good way to raise money for a good cause while escaping the boredom of the same old fundraiser again and again. Depending on where your fundraiser is located you can involve all age ranges and types of people.

• Venue
• Karaoke Equipment/DJ
• Envelopes
• Pens, pencils
• Willingness to laugh at yourself and others

1. Find a venue. This is a lot easier if you have access to karaoke equipment, if not find a community center, bar, restaurant, etc. that has karaoke equipment.

2. Find an emcee/dj. Whether professional or amateur this person will be vital to the success of your fundraiser.

3. Print song request cards- I recommend printing them on envelopes (that way people can just put their donation inside).

4. Advertise. Advertise. Advertise. Call radio shows, television, newspapers, friends, associates, etc. Let them know why you are doing what you are doing.

5. SING. Laugh, joke, be merry, raise money!

Tips & Warnings

• Set a minimum donation per song.
• If you choose to have your fundraiser at a bar, make sure people have options to get home. Karaoke and drinking can sometimes go hand in hand, which could create a dangerous situation.
