How to Change Your Baby Without a Changing Table

Expensive changing tables are not necessary when it comes to changing your baby. Changing tables are nice to have, however, unless you get get more uses out of it as your baby gets older and out of diapers, changing tables are an expensive piece of furniture that takes up space.

This article will tell you how to change your baby without spending a DIME on a changing table, changing pad, or other changing devices that you have to buy!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Flat surface such as a counter. This surface should be longer than your baby.
  • Bath Towel
  1. Step 1

    Find a flat surface to change your baby, such as a bathroom counter, dresser, or bed. A bathroom counter is preferable.

  2. Step 2

    Grab a bath towel out of your linen closet and fold the towel into a rectangle or square. The towel should fit the changing space comfortably.

  3. Step 3

    Place baby on top of towel and change diaper. Never leave baby unattended.

  4. Step 4

    Remove towel, place on a rack, and reuse it for the next changing.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use a soft, plush bath towel to provide a soft surface for your baby
  • You can reuse the same towel as long as you flip it over and refold it with the inside now being on the outside, and as long as your baby has not soiled the towel.
  • Throw the towel in your regular laundry
  • Always place a clean diaper under your baby before removing the dirty diaper. This helps prevent soiling the towel.
  • Never leave baby unattended
  • Do not change your baby on a soiled surface. That is unsanitary.
  • Always wash your baby's bottom every diaper change.
  • Always wipe down the counters and surfaces daily with a disenfectant.
