Things You'll Need:
- Computer
- internet
- a Myspace profile
- a little bit of time on your hands
-
Step 1
If you haven't done some already, create a myspace profile by registering at www.myspace.com . Make sure that you confirm your email address before continuing to the next step.
-
Step 2
Create a personalized page.
Add a photo! I cannot stress this enough. People will look over you if you do not at least have one picture on your profile.
Goto sites like www.pimp-my-profile.com to find a layout that fits your personality. when you have discovered something you like, add the code to you 'about me' section in 'edit profile' Be sure to click save when you are happy with what you have. -
Step 3
While you are still in your 'edit profile' sections, there will be a place to add what interest you have and the like. This includes music, moives, books, heores, etc. Be really honest and put as many down as possible. People search for new friends by interest and they may be linked to you!
-
Step 4
Make sure you are completely satisfied, for the time being, of your profile. Finish any fine tuning so that you will be happy with what others will see.
-
Step 5
Click 'Groups' on the main toolbar and browse through any groups that gain your interest. Join groups. Even join groups if you aren't going to participate in them. This is just another way for people to see you.
-
Step 6
After you would normally log into Myspace, you are on your 'home' page. On the right hand side of the screen there is usually a 'featured profile.' Go to that profile by clicking on the ad and add them as a friend. You will be added immediately. Everyone will goto this site and see you under the friends list.
-
Step 7
Start searching for people with the same interest as you. You can do this by viewing your own profile and clicking on any of the 'interest' you put down and a list of members will pop up. You can narrow your search by location, whether they have pictures or not
-
Step 8
Blog!!!!
The only way I can express how I feel without getting into any trouble is to post a blog. Whether it was how your day went or a list of things you want to buy, or even that weird itch that won't go away. If you don't want anyone else to read it, change the view setting to 'friends only' or 'diary.'
That way, you can post it. People will know that you posted a blog. But they will try to be your friend just to read it. -
Step 9
Everytime you add a friend or a friend adds you, view their friends list and see if there is anyone you would like to add. Most people will add you if you are a mutual friend of someone they know.
-
Step 10
When you go to the main homepage of Myspace, they show people who are new to the community. Add them as your friends. They will be thankful.
-
Step 11
Take note of how many pageviews (underneath your avatar) and your friends list (how many there are) right before you log off each time. When you check the next time you log in, you made be surprised at how many people you have seen
