How to Throw an Ice Cream Sundae Party for Kids
There are few treats which more perfectly embody the summer spirit than ice cream. Throwing an ice cream sundae party is great for summer get-togethers, because it allows everyone to get creative while indulging in a refreshing snack. Send out invitations with the purpose of your party on them. Tell your guests that it's an ice cream sundae party. This is the time to request that they bring a topping.

Set a stack of bowls at one end of your kitchen counter and set spoons next to them.

Set up tubs of ice cream on your kitchen counter. Have a few flavors available, especially basics like vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. Avoid ice creams that already have toppings mixed in with them.

Set up a line of bowls at the end of the counter, each with its own topping in it. Some good sundae ideas are chopped nuts, sprinkles, chocolate chips, mini M&Ms, crumbled cookies or brownies and shredded coconut. Set jars of toppings around the bowls too, including caramel and chocolate sauce.

Set up a couple cans of whipped cream and a bowl of cherries at the end of the assembly line.
