The Swiss-ball seated military press is ideal in developing the deltoid muscles and (to a degree) the top of the chest. This exercise develops the muscles needed for basketball and judo. Read on to learn more.

Things You'll Need:

  • Swiss-ball
  • Light barbell

    How to Perform a Swiss-Ball Seated Military Press

  1. Step 1

    Hold a light barbell about shoulder width apart with a over hand grip at collarbone level, While sitting on a Swiss-ball. Try not to arch your back to much.

  2. Step 2

    Keep your feet flat on the floor for stability throughout the performance of the exercise. Your core muscles will be engaged to aid in stabilizing your torso during the movement.

  3. Step 3

    Press the bar upward until your arms are straight. Remember to not lock your elbows. Lower and repeat exercise.

Tips & Warnings
  • Exhale when you press.
  • Inhale when you return.
  • Use light weight until you fully learn the movement.
  • Your core must the strong to effectively do this exercise. Take it slow.
