You have a collection of Images and Photos in your computer. You want to make a CD/DVD of these Images. This article will help you in making CD/DVD. In one of my previous articles I had showed how to convert Text files into Image files. You can convert these Image files into AVI files and make CD/DVD.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer or Laptop
  • ImageToAVI v 1.0.0.5 software
  • Jpeg Images or photos
Step1
Step 1: Download ‘ImageToAVI v 1.0.0.5’ software from the website www.aswsoftware.com Or www.download.com Or www.google.com

The software is Free. If you donate some amount you can get additional benefits. Read the Home Page of the Software’s Web Site.
Step2
Step 2: Save some ‘Images’ (type Jpeg) in ‘My Documents’. You can use other types of Images e.g. (Bitmap, Gif, or all the three).
Step3
ImageToAVI Software Step 3: Open ‘ImageToAVI v 1.0.0.5’ by double clicking its shortcut. Look at all the bars, buttons and blank space.
Step4
Multiplication Table Step 4: Click ‘Add Image Files’ button. A window will open. Search ‘My Documents’ and click it. Names of all the ‘Images’ will appear in the blank side panel of open window. The first name will be highlighted and the ‘Image’ will appear in the blank panel on right side.
Click ‘Ok’. The window will close and file name will appear in ‘ImageToAVI’ software window.
Step5
Step 5: Click ‘Ok’ of the small window ‘ImageToAVI’ which has appeared.
If you want to insert background picture, then click ‘Open Background Pic…’ button and insert picture of your choice. Otherwise click ‘Output File’ button and write file name (preferably same name)
Step6
Step 6: If you want to insert audio file then click small window before ‘Include Audio’ and click ‘Open Audio’ button. Insert the audio file of your choice. It is advisable to save audio file in ‘My Documents’ before insertion.
(Avoid this step for the time being as audio file will be inserted during making of movie file or slideshow.)
Step7
Step 7: Reduce the ‘Border Size Width’ to 2 and ‘Border Size Height’ to 1 with the help of arrows (if you want a broader Image otherwise leave it).
Step8
Step 8: Click side arrow of ‘DVD NTSC 720X480’ and select ‘DVD PAL 720X576’. (You need not change it if you want NTSC format.)
Step9
Step 9: In the ‘Repeat each frame’ seconds, type 10.
If you want to view Image for lesser time then type 3 or 4 or 5 but if you want to view it for longer time then type according to your choice.
(It may be noted that if your audio file is of longer time say 15 seconds, then the image will appear for 15 seconds even if you have made it for say 5 seconds)
Step10
Step 10: Click green ‘Compile Images’ button. It will become red with the word ‘Stop’. A window ‘Video Compression’ will open.
Step11
Step 11: Click arrow of ‘Compressor’ and select ‘XviD Mpeg-4 Codec’. On clicking ‘OK’ the compression will start.
After the compression is complete, the button will become green and the AVI file will be saved in ‘My Documents’. You can view the file by double clicking it.
(The size of file is very less approximately 170 KB/5s with this codec. You can use Microsoft Mpeg 1 codec and Microsoft Mpeg 2 codec as these codec produce files of very small size. If these are not in the list, you can download from Microsoft Web Site.).
Step12
Step 12: Click ‘Delete Selected Image’ button to remove the present ‘Image’ and then Click ‘Add Image Files’ button, select another ‘Image’. Click ‘OK’ button and complete the compilation.

You can convert one file at a time or a number of files at a time. Try and use the software frequently till you are fully conversant with its use. Use different codec to see the file size.
