How to Dress to Hide a Small Bustline

Everyone has a little figure flaw here and there, something they wish they could just whittle down or fluff up a bit. While that can't be accomplished too easily, wearing the right clothing can make you look slimmer or fuller in all the right places.

From Quick Guide: Breast Enhancement
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Wear empire waist shirts and dresses. The fabric is cinched beneath the bust and falls away from he body. This style is just about every figures friend because it drops away from the bustline, hiding the area above the waist and the abdomen. It makes the bust look fuller by giving the allusion of a tinier area beneath it.

  2. Step 2

Choose wide cinched belts which draw the eye away from the bust to the waistline. The cinching effect of the fabric gives a fullness above the waist and below the waist giving the body a more curvy hourglass shape.

  3. Step 3

Select jackets with simple lines, such as round necks, and straight lines on the sides. Breast pockets work well and so do belted jackets if the belt is wide. Also a stripe at the sides or stripes across the jacket will work well. Avoid notched jacket lapels which draw the eye to the bustline.

  4. Step 4

Avoid clingy tops and fussy blouses with ruffles, tucks, and shirring. V-necks and plunging necklines are a bad choice, too. Instead choose jewel necklines which are rounded and very high on the neck. Boat necks will also work. These are tops with really wide openings which reach like a slit past the neck on either side. A small cowl neck that drapes at the neck will flatter this figure flaw as well.

Tips & Warnings
  • Clothes that are too tight or too big don't hide or accentuate but amplify all that's wrong. The best friend of any figure type is a garment that fits well.
  • Avoid too many frills and fuss especially anywhere around the top of the garment. Lots of details on the skirt hem works great as it draws the eye down.
