Are you looking for a fun and creative way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your toddler or preschooler? If you are, you may want to consider doing a Valentine’s Day themed craft project with them. When it comes to preschool Valentine’s Day craft projects, you will find that you have a number of different options, but one of the easiest and most affordable is making a Valentine’s Day heart wreath.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Construction Paper (Red, Pink, and White Are Best)
  • Scissors
  • Glue Stick
  • Pen or Pencil
  • Paper Plate
  1. Step 1

Cut the inside out of a paper plate, leaving only the outer rim. This will serve as a guide for your child when making their Valentine’s Day heart wreath.

  2. Step 2

Cut out heart shapes on the construction paper. You may want to draw hearts first, as well as have your child draw their own, as this approach is often much easier for quick cutting.

  3. Step 3

Have your child glue their hearts onto rim of the paper plate you cut out. When using multi-colored hearts, try to encourage your child to create a pattern. Also, have them glue only the lower portion of the hearts, as this lessens the chance of a sticky mess.

  4. Step 4

    Hang in your home.

Tips & Warnings
  • Let your child draw on their hearts or add stickers. This can prolong the length and increase the amount of creativity needed for this easy Valentine’s Day preschool craft project.
  • Put newspapers or paper towels down underneath the heart wreath when your child is gluing, to prevent glue from getting on your table.
