What's for dinner? What's for dinner? It is a daily daunting question. You just finish one dinner and it seems like it is time to make the decision again. There is a way to make this process a whole lot easier.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A piece of paper
  • A pen
  • Grocery sale papers
  1. Step 1

Gather the family together for just a few minutes. Be realistic about how many days during the month or even a two week period that you will likely not cook.

  2. Step 2

Imagine that out of 14 days, you will likely not cook two of them. That leaves 12 days that you will cook. Now assume there are four people in your family. That means everyone gets to select three dinner choices.

  3. Step 3

Make them decide based on sale items. You might say we are working with pork chops, salmon, ground beef, and chicken so choose from those meats as a base.

  4. Step 4

Organize the choices on the paper in a menu like order but do not label the days. You might not want to lock yourself into a dinner that takes longer to cook on a busy day.

  5. Step 5

Choose which dinner you will make each morning based on the type of day that you expect. Put an X through that meal and pull the meat out of the freezer right then.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you expect to work late or have an evening activity planned then select something simple.
  • Save the dinners that take more prep time for lighter days.
