How to Lock Your Desktop in Windows XP

If your computer is easily accessible by others and you do not wish for this to happen, you can easily lock it so that it is password protected. No one else will have access to it until you give them the required information. Here is how you do so.

Things You'll Need:

• Windows XP

1. Make sure you know the password to your computer.

2. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del on your keyboard.

3. Choose "Lock Desktop."

4. Your computer will be locked immediately.

5. If you need access to your desktop again, press Ctrl+Alt+Del.

6. Enter your password and you will then be able to resume activity on the computer.

Tips & Warnings

• Choose an easy to remember password.
• Do not forget your password! You will not be able to log back into your machine if so.
