How to Add Spaces Between Paragraphs in Microsoft Word

You might want to add spaces between paragraphs to insert more information in a Word document.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Microsoft Word XP - 2003
  1. Step 1

    Launch Microsoft Word and open up the document that you need to edit.

  2. Step 2

    Highlight the paragraphs in which you wish to make the change.

  3. Step 3

    On the menu at the top, click 'Format' and choose 'Paragraph.'

  4. Step 4

    Under the 'Spacing' option, increase or decrease the 'Before' or 'After.' For example, if you wish to add spacing after a paragraph, increase the amount for 'After.'

  5. Step 5

    Click "OK" and you will see your paragraphs updated with the new spacing information.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure to highlight only the applicable paragraphs
