When you copy and paste cell contents in Excel, you will end up copying the borders as well. Read on to learn how to copy cell contents without borders in Microsoft Excel.

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Open up the file in Microsoft Excel.
Step2
Navigate to the cell that contains the information you need to copy.
Step3
Double-click on it and select the contents of the cell. Press "Ctrl+A" to select everything automatically.
Step4
Press "Ctrl+C" to copy the contents of the cell.
Step5
Navigate to the cell that you wish to transfer the information to and press "Ctrl+V" to paste the contents.
Step6
The cell will now contain only the data and not the border information.

Tips & Warnings

  • You will see the cursor blinking when you double-click properly in a cell.
  • This will not copy the borders. Copy the entire cell if you need to do so.
