Step 1
Go to the Start menu on the left-hand side of your computer screen.

Click "Control Panel" in the right column.

Sounds and audio devices screen shotClick on "Sounds and Audio Devices" within the control panel. Note: these choices are in order. It looks like a miniature black speaker.

Step 4
Scroll down to the "Program Events Box," and you will see a list of sounds under the "Windows" heading. To turn off the start up and login sounds you usually hear, click "Start Windows," and select "None" from the drop-down box.
And,"Windows Logoff" and select "none" respectively. -
Step 5
If you want to turn the "Windows Logon" sound off, click that choice and select "None" once again from the menu on your screen.

Step 6
To turn off the Windows shut down noise, click "Exit Windows" from that same menu in the other steps and select "None" from the same drop-down menu.
