How to Get Along with Your Co-Workers
Because you spend so much time with your co-workers, it is important to get along with them so as to enjoy your job better. When there are hard feelings or feelings of dislike between co-workers, it can make your job miserable. You will begin to hate going to work and you will feel tension while you are there. To get along with co-workers, there are several things you can do.

1
Put on a happy face. Come to work with a smile and let it show to others. Be pleasant to your co-workers and greet them with a "good morning" and a smile. If you consistently do this, people will know you in this way and will appreciate your good moods. If you are happy, the people around you may also feel happier.

2
Be a team player. Make it a habit to go out of your way to help co-workers when needed. Don't sacrifice the work you are supposed to do, but when you can, lend a hand to others. Remember, the company you work for is the same company your co-workers work for and therefore the goals are all the same.

Avoid getting involved with office politics, drama or gossip. Stay out of business that is not yours and avoid spreading rumors or taking part in drama at the workplace. If co-workers tell you things, don't respond; just mind your own business. Encourage others to do the same.

4
Do not be the office police officer. If your co-worker does something wrong, or inappropriate, don't start trouble by telling on him. Instead, talk to the co-worker about it. He will most likely respect you more for talking to him personally rather than spreading rumors around to his manager or other co-workers.

5
Get over the grudge. Never hold grudges with co-workers and always give people the benefit of the doubt. You must realize that everyone has bad days and everyone makes mistakes. Own up to your mistakes and be accountable for them. Realize that everyone else may not have this perspective, but treat them like they do.

Be positive but don't be phony either, because people can see right through that. Have a positive attitude and try not to bring your personal problems to work.
