Completionist - The completionist is really an extension of a general video gaming type, the kind that enjoys unlockables and maximizing the play time of any individual game. The completionist wants to make his or her character - for lack of a better term - complete. This might involve mastering a variety of tradeskills (and, in WoW, getting all the recipes for a particular tradeskill), exploring the world and seeing all the zones, and completing armor sets or getting obscure items. They’re not as intense as powergamers because they tend to wander a little off the beaten track of character progression, and aren’t necessarily fixated on gear.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • You're chosen video games
  • Chosen System(s) for your video games.
  • Internet access
  • Pen and Paper
  • Time on your hands
  • Easily accessible food, drinks and bathroom facilities
  1. Step 1

    Atmosphere
    1. Decide on where you will dedicate time and effort into making your gamer nest
    2. gather all necessary items in a convenient location to your ‘gamer nest’ This include your communication apparatus, food, and drink, necessary guides, games, consoles, a pen and paper, along with a calculator, and possibly your wingman if you are one of those types who will overlook something.
    3. Make sure that you have a decent bathroom facility near by for quick ‘freshening up’ and ‘disposal.’

  2. Step 2

    Attaining your guides
    1. Option 1: go to www.google.com ; enter the following phrase ‘title of game exactly as it appears on the case’ walkthrough ‘insert console name here’ and then press ‘enter.’ Sort through a few sites to retrieve the information you need. Once you find what you are looking for, download it onto you computer.
    2. Option 2 (recommended) Go to www.gamefaqs.com and inter the title of your game in the search box. Once a results list appears on screen, select your game with the corresponding console next to it. Click of the ‘FAQs’ link and view the guides left behind by fellow gamers.

  3. Step 3

Get the most out of your session:
    1. Start your game fully alert.
    2. Make sure you have a set goal to achieve for your session at this time. Good examples are ‘Master the tutorial mode,’ ‘Get through the first checkpoint,’ ‘Get a feel of the Boss’s attack pattern and what’s effective.’
    3. Keep a towel or baby wipes around to clean your hands before tampering with the inside of any console or the surfaces of any games.
    4. Set a time length of your game session. Limiting your time will give you a push towards your selected goal, allows your console to cool off between sessions, and gives you enough time to take care of errands or chores in the real world.

  4. Step 4

    Glossary
¥ Gamer Nest: the area in which includes your TV, console, all video games you are working on, computer area (optional) and your seating arrangement (chair, floor) this area must not be invaded by unwelcome guests during which is your playing session
¥ Session: the time that you are playing on your game of figuring out a proper strategy.

Tips & Warnings
  • ¥ Put your Cell phone (if you have one) On a ringtone that doesn’t blend in with your video game. Make sure the ringer is at its loudest and near by your food so that you can answer it quickly ¥ If you have a question on a guide you have, the creator usually has an email or another way to contact them for your questions. BE SURE TO READ THEIR F.A.Q.’s first! ¥ When saving a guide onto your computer, either save it as a Microsoft Word or WordPad document. It’s easier to view later in the long run
  • ¥ Be sure to mention to people who bother you the most that you are playing a video game and do not wish to be bothered unless its an absolute emergency. ¥ If bathroom facilities are not within easy reach and you plan on not traveling the extra time to get there, e sure to only consume items that will not go through your disgestive system within 1 hour or so. ¥ A wingman is only as useful as he is according to you. If he/she is harmful to the progession of your gaming be rid of them immediately ¥ When using a guide DO NOT REPRODUCE IT AS YOUR OWN!!! The owners/creators of these guides have ways to show that you are copying and leave some type of ‘watermark’ to prove it’s theirs
