I rarely purchase stationary from the store. I’ve never liked the idea of using what everyone else uses. The cool thing about making your own stationary is that you can use it to print your letters on if you prefer that to handwriting a letter. So, you don’t have to be someone who sits down and writes out long letters on attractive stationary; printing your letters is an option to. While the art of letter writing has rather gone the way of the wind, so to speak, since the advent of computers and email, there will always be occasions where you will need to send a letter such as the holidays for example.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Nice paper
  • Computer
  • Color printer
  • Internet connection
  • Word processing program

Step1
Purchase some nice paper. There are a number of nice papers available, such as linen paper, at stationary stores and stores that sell stationary supplies.
Step2
Go on the Internet and find clip art and stock photos that you like.
Step3
Copy and paste whatever clip art or stock photos you would like onto a word document. You can do this by going to "Insert" on the drop-down menus and selecting "Picture," which will allow you to select the picture or clip art from your hard drive and add it where you would like.
Step4
Save this page as your master stationary document.
Step5
Add the nice paper to your printer and either type a letter onto your master document and save it under another name, then print it out. Or just print out the stationary and then write your letter on it.

Tips & Warnings

  • Move your clip art and or stock photos around on the page. You may find you want to move them around for different looks after you insert them onto your page.
  • If you’re going to be writing your letter by hand on your new stationary, be sure and allow the ink to dry on the page before you begin writing your letter otherwise you could smear it.
  • While you will probably only be using this stationary for personal use, it is still a good idea to be sure that any clip art or stock photos you use are royalty free. You never know who might see your pretty homemade stationary and recognize a picture or piece of clip art that is not royalty free. Copyright infringement is still copyright infringement, even if you are just using the clip art or stock photo for personal use.
