A Bowed Psaltery is known to be one of the easiest instruments in the world to play. It is considered a Celtic instrument dating back to 300 B.C., but still beloved by many today. Some easy steps will get you playing in no time!

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Begin by placing the instrument either on your lap or on a table in front of you.
Step2
You can "bow" either side of the psaltery, or both.
Step3
Very similar to the keys on a piano, the left side of the instument features the sharps and flats (like the black keys) and the right side features the natural notes (like the white keys.
Step4
The longer strings are the "bass" notes and the shorter strings are the "treble" notes.
Step5
Using the bow "between" the pins on the Psaltery will create the sound of the "individual" notes themselves.
