You can plan your perfect garden this spring with a simple design plan. Grow flowers, trees and vegetables suited for your garden space.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Take your measuring tape into the yard and decide what size space you want for each item grown. You will just need a basic idea so you can plan your garden.

  2. Step 2

    Get a piece of paper and divide it into five sections. Place your house in the plan. Look at the sample drawing provided for an idea.

  3. Step 3

    Decide if you are going to start from seed or if you are going to get starter plants and trees from a nursery. Write the name of each plant in your plans.

  4. Step 4

    Keep the plan as a guideline for planting and to identify sprouted seedlings. You can also make changes and alterations to your
    garden later and note them in your plans. Draw a new plan each spring.

  • Slow drip sprinklers save water and will cover the whole garden.
  • A planned garden adds value to your home.
  • By planning a garden you can avoid weeds and invasive species from taking over your yard.
