This is an easy way to add beauty to your yard, provide shade and add natural habitats for birds by planting the tree of your choice.
Flowering trees also help bees and add a fragrant scent to your
garden.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A shovel
  • 1 bag of bark/mulch (soil)
  • 1 box of tree fertilizer/nutrients
  • 2 five foot wooden stakes or bamboo poles
  • Garden tape or twine
  • Hammer

How to Plant a Tree in your yard

  1. Step 1

First you will choose a tree. A shade tree or fruit tree?
Decide if you want a tree that is evergreen ( like a pine)
or one that loses its leaves (like an elm or apple tree).
Find a nursery with a good tree selection and see if any near you deliver.

  2. Step 2

once you have your tree, you must select a location in your yard.
Walk around the yard and place your shovel where you picture your
tree growing. Keep in mind the tree will require more space when
    it grows to full height.

  3. Step 3

Dig a hole that is about six inches wider than the root ball of the tree.
Take the tree out of the planter pot by laying the tree on the ground
and allow for the soil to empty out of the planter.

  4. Step 4

Pull the tree out by the base of the trunk, near the soil.
Be gentle so you do not break the roots or branches off.
If the root ball is tight, then loosen some roots, so they
will quickly adhere to the ground when planted. Add soil mulch to soil
you removed from the hole. Pack the dirt around the tree firmly, then place each stake one foot from tree. Pound the stakes into the ground, tie the tree trunk and mid-section to the stakes. Add fertilizer and water two times a week for six months.

Tips & Warnings
  • Think about useful trees that bear fruit, nuts or flowers.
  • Think about your climate and try to plant species from your area.
  • You can use trees as natural fences and decorative garden topiaries.
  • Decide if you want the fall colors and leaves falling, or evergreens all year.
  • Take space into account and don't plant large, fast growing trees that require too much trimming.

on 9/13/2008 There are some issues in this write up.
Ohe does not pull the tree holding from the trunk
and he first year applies only ROOT STIMULATOR so that tree could trust its roots far and wide. Some horticultirists say that we should not FEED thye tree foir three years.

Please have someone check all your facts.
