There are many ways to pray and there is a right way to pray. When there is a certain desire that you need fulfilling, like finding a mate for yourself, all a person needs to do is ask. God may not come when you want him. He's there on his own time. Read on to learn more about how to pray for a mate.

Things You'll Need:

  • Open heart
  • Prayer shawl
  1. Step 1

    Clear your head of whatever bothered you for that day.

  2. Step 2

    Take the prayer shawl and drape it either across the shoulders as if you were going to wear it or on either of the shoulders folded.

  3. Step 3

    Find a quiet place. Usually, this will be in your bedroom with everything closed and turned off.

  4. Step 4

    Bending at both knees, cup both hands together as you place the elbows on the bed. This is called kneeling.

  5. Step 5

    Affirm your spirit and acknowledge the presence of God.

  6. Step 6

    Confess your sins and all that was done for that day.

  7. Step 7

    Thank God for what he has done and what he is going to do.

  8. Step 8

    Surrender yourself to God's will. Seek his face and submit to his love.

  9. Step 9

    Talk to God as if you were talking to a friend or family member.

  10. Step 10

    If it is a mate that you desire, ask God to show this mate to you.

  11. Step 11

    Describe the kind of person you desire in your life in detail. God has a sense of humor.

  12. Step 12

    Pray without ceasing.

  13. Step 13

    Wait for your answer as you go on with your daily life.
