Here’s the scenario; you’re hosting a party and it’s mostly guys on the guest list so you want to avoid party games that are too femmed out--but you don’t want to turn the whole event into a poker party either. Where’s the middle ground? Dice! Quick games that allow for tons of interaction, but not total concentration. Here’s how to set up a dice game station--perfect for daytime or evening get-togethers.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Regular Dice Sets (5 dice each)
  • Poker Dice
  • Jackpot Dice
  • Dice Cups and Boats
  • Plastic, Rubber, Wooden or Felt-Lined Trays
  • A Lucky Charm

Step1
There are a million dice games to choose from, so cruise through what’s available online and at gaming stores to find an assortment that fits your party. I went to Kardwell International to find my favorites (see link in Resources below).
Step2
Borrow or buy a card table and cover it with felt to create a gaming table vibe.
Step3
Set up the dice games you've selected, print out instructions--then frame them or mount them on card stock and leave on the table for guests to brush up on the rules. The following are games I went with.
Step4
Chuck a Luck

Chuck A Luck is a dice game where the basic object is to tumble three dice in a cage and bet on how they will land once the cage comes to a stop. Players put their bets on one of the six betting sections--which are sections of a felt cloth numbered 1 to 6. When all bets are down, the cage is flipped by the dealer. The result is displayed once the cage stops moving and the dice drop.

When one die shows the value bet, the player wins even money (1-to-1). Two of the dice showing the number bet would mean that the player is paid double his bet (2-to-1) and when three of the dice end up showing the number bet, it would mean that the player wins triple his bet (3-to-1). All bets placed on numbers not shown on the displayed dice are considered lost.
Step5
Liar's Dice and Boss Dice

Load colorful dice into dice boats and flank them with the dice cups to be used in the games. See Resources below for eHows on how to play both games and find boats and cups.
