Things You’ll Need:

  • 2 blank recordable compact discs (CDs)
  • Short Form PA downloaded from US copyright website
  • Large envelope and postage
  • Deposit required for copyright

How to copyright origional songs

Step1
Choose a single song with good recording quality.
You may also submit a collection of songs on one compact disc for the
same fee.
Step2
go to the appropriote web site: www.copyright.gov. Here, you download the Short Form PA.
Step3
Purchase a large envelope and place inside it the CD, the PA form and
a small deposit to process the form, the amount of which which will be posted on the copyright website. The address were the envelope must be sent is also on the website.
Step4
Go to the postal center near you and have the postage placed on the envelope and track your package, so you are certain it is received.

Tips & Warnings

  • By ensuring your songs and musical compostions are protected, you can perform, publish and sell your original masterpieces.
  • When you include a compact disc for copyright, make sure you make two copies for yourself. Do not send your only copy of recorded material.
