If you do not already know, here is an easy way to remember and read line and space music notes. Let's start with the treble clef, which is usually on the top of the staff, although; there is some music where the treble clef will be at the bottom, usually where the bass clef is located. E-G-B-D-F are the line notes for the treble clef. The phrase E-very G-ood B-ird D-oes F-ine, is a good way to remember these notes ONLY for the treble clef. F-A-C-E (face) are the space notes for the treble clef. Moving on to the bass clef, which is located on the bottom of the staff. G-B-D-F-A or using the phrase G-reat B-ig D-dogs F-etch A-pples is a good way to remember the line notes for ONLY the bass clef. Using the phrase A-ll C-ars E-at G-as (and they do) will help you to remember the space notes for the bass clef, A-C-E-G. Hopefully, this information will help you, whether you are a just starting to learn how to read music or need to refresh your memory.
