Make a Bingo Game for Your Classroom

Bingo is one of the greatest games you can play with young children. I always play BLACKOUT BINGO, which is when you have to cover up all the squares (as opposed to one row) to win. This ensures that all the children win at the same time. I always make my bingo sheet front and back. When the kids are playing on the picture side I show them word flashcards, and when they are playing on the word side I show them picture flashcards. These steps will get them on the way to hitting the jackpot.

Instructions

    • 1

Take pictures of the students. Find a white background to take the pictures in front of.

    • 2

Open a simple drawing program like Apple Works or Microsoft Works.

    • 3

Import the pictures and resize them.

    • 4

Arrange the pictures in a grid.

    • 5

Make a side with all names and show them picture flashcards while playing this side.

    • 6

Create a couple of different versions of each bingo card with the pictures and names mixed up.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be sure you are playing Blackout Bingo where the objective is to fill up the entire sheet to win.
